What for free in London (carnavaly)
The one who will be in the English capital on August 29 and 30 will appear a chance to enjoy unique and, which is essential, free spectacle. In the Western London, at the end of the summer, the new carnival is held. An annual holiday is not related to winter European carnavals, but by itself has long become a tradition: this year it will be held in the 34th time.
In a two-day act (the first day – for children, the second – for all) 72 theater groups and 12 brass bands take part, their performances are interspersed with folk ensembles – British and foreign. The procession is stretched by three miles, and the event reaches its climax on the square. All this inconceivable rattling compote from reggae-jazz-funky-cola stuns the area of 45 sound systems, the people are having fun, tourists stare.
It is believed that the newhilk carnival is intended to reflect the multicultural nature of the British society. In terms of presenting the rest of the cultures that exist in the world, from the Afghan, Bulgarian and our to African and Latin American. Actually, and invented this magnificence not the British: it all started in 1960 with a quiet and modest procession, arranged in London emigrants from Trinidad. Londoners remained only to catch the initiative that they did: now the total number of viewers and participants reaches two million people.
The only thing to which spectators have to be spent here – Food: Many mobile trays offering the kitchen of the Peoples of the world are installed at the main square at the time of the carnival. However, pleasure is, unlike the monstrously expensive London restaurants, is quite accessible to everyone.
